Melanesia
is an area in the South Pacific that consists of the following Islands; Fiji, Indonesia,
New Caledonia, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu.Of all the Islands in Melanesia, the most likely ones to find employment for U.S.
citizens and those from English speaking countries are in Fiji and the Solomon Islands; If you want to work abroad in the South Pacific,

In Fiji, sample jobs are found in spas, hotels
(including bartenders and cooks), general construction, and SCUBA diving.The Republic of Fiji is comprised of 366 Islands
but the main two (with 87% of the population) are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.Although there have been some recent problems with
general political and civil unrest, Fiji should be a safe place to work again by mid to
late 2009.
In the Solomon Islands, the main jobs are the same as
in Fiji; they are centered around the tourism industry.The nation is comprised of over 1,000 Islands.The main Island, where the capital is located, is Guadalcanal. With a size
of 2,510 square miles, there is plenty of room to roam in your off-hours.
